Alan Boswell Group comprises five distinct entities, each excelling in its respective fields: insurance broking, risk management, financial planning, employee benefits, and underwriting. At the core of this multi-faceted operation is the insurance brokers. With a GWP exceeding £180 million from a client base of over 70,000, the Group offers services across commercial, property, and personal lines. Spanning East Anglia, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire, the Group boasts a workforce of over 400 and continues to expand, driven by organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

In 2022, the Group’s growth trajectory was strengthened by the acquisition of Glemham Underwriting, which has since undergone a comprehensive rebrand and integration with the Group’s existing underwriting business. This strategic move has bolstered capacity and broadened expertise, particularly in Professional Indemnity and Farm insurance.

The Group predominantly operates as commercial insurance brokers, this includes some specialisms such as science and technology, cyber, credit, agriculture and renewables. They also manage exclusive schemes catering to therapists, teachers, and a self-drive hire scheme for motorhome and campervan owners looking to rent out their vehicles.

Over the past decade, the Group has experienced substantial growth in the property insurance sector. Encompassing both residential, buy-to-let, and commercial property. It has some of the widest acceptance criteria in the industry, meaning it can cater for unoccupied property, renovations, HMOs, and serviced accommodation as well as more standard buy-to-let properties. Notably, their NIG landlord insurance policy earned the prestigious distinction of a Which? Best Buy in 2023. Simultaneously, the Group continues to foster direct relationships with clients, a shift from the conventional reliance on comparison sites.

Alan Boswell Group is deeply committed to its local communities. In 2019, the establishment of the Group’s Charitable Trust marked an earnest effort to contribute to local good causes. To date, the Trust has provided grants exceeding £2 million to support various community initiatives.
